Joining the Autobot faction at the outbreak of the civil war, Ratchet accompanied Optimus Prime to search for survivors in part of Iacon city after Megatron had activated the planetary engines. Ratchet appeared in much the same capacity as he did in the TV series, acting as the Autobots' chief medic. Ratchet appeared in the 1985 story Autobots Fight Back by John Grant, published by Ladybird Books.
